UW men’s rowing wins all 3 races in Oregon State dual

US

The Washington men’s rowing team swept all three races Saturday morning in the annual dual regatta vs. Oregon State.

The Huskies won the first, second and third varsity eight races on Montlake Cut.

The varsity eight race was the most compelling of the morning as the two teams remained in contention throughout much of the race. Oregon State’s crew started strong, but the Huskies responded and quickly edged in front, taking an eight-seat lead by 1,000 meters.

Washington steadily built on that lead in the second half of the race and rowed to a win with a time of 5:49.251.

The UW second varsity eight capitalized on a strong start to establish an open-water lead in the first quarter of the race. That Husky crew crossed the finish line with a time of 5:54.032.

Next Saturday, the Huskies travel to Redwood Shores in northern California for the UW-Cal Dual Regatta.
