Dump truck crashes, loses load on I-35 in Georgetown; Traffic being diverted

GEORGETOWN, Texas (KXAN) — Traffic driving through Georgetown on Interstate 35 is being diverted after a dump truck crashed and lost its load.

Georgetown Police said the inside Northbound lane and inside Southbound lane are blocked due to debris. Some traffic was being diverted onto FM 972.

Police initially said all northbound lanes of the interstate were closed.

Police said it’s not clear how long the interstate will be affected and advised drivers to found alternate routes if possible.
