Michael Laboy, of Providence, Rhode Island, was arrested Thursday at his job in Taunton.

A 19-year-old Providence, Rhode Island, man was arrested Thursday afternoon in connection with a deadly hit-and-run crash in Dighton earlier this month.

Michael Laboy was arrested where he works in Taunton, according to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office. He’s facing a charge of leaving the scene of a crash resulting in death.

On April 4, an off-duty Taunton police officer called 911 at about 10 p.m. after noticing an object in the breakdown lane of Route 44 in Dighton and then realizing it was a man. The victim, 57-year-old Paul DeMoura, was taken to Morton Hospital and pronounced dead.

Laboy was expected to be arraigned in Taunton District Court on Thursday afternoon. In its release, the DA’s office didn’t specify how they linked Laboy to the crash.
