6 students slashed at Queens charter school: NYPD

Six students at a Queens charter school were injured after a fight broke out in the cafeteria on Wednesday, according to police.

Police said they received a call around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday about an assault in progress at the New Dawn Charter High School II at 89-25 161st St. in Jamaica. Officers found six students with minor cuts, and three of them were sent to a local hospital.

A knife was recovered at the scene, according to an NYPD spokesperson. Five of the students allegedly involved in the incident were arrested.

Police said charges are pending.
