“Many” of the pineapples spilled onto the road, officials said.
A truck rollover caused “thousands” of pineapples to end up on the side of the road in Westford Saturday morning, officials said.
Police responded to I-495 North in Westford for a 2-vehicle crash that resulted in a tractor-trailer to turn onto its side Saturday morning, State Police said in a statement.
The driver of the truck was taken to Lowell General with minor injuries, police said.
“The truck was hauling thousands of pineapples, many of which spilled onto the brush,” State Police said in a post to their X account at about 9 a.m. Saturday.
The cleanup was still ongoing three hours later, State Police said in another post. Two lanes of traffic were closed, leaving one lane open.
Photos showed boxes of Del Monte brand pineapples spilling out from the truck, which appeared to be missing a large chunk of its roof.
