Body found in creek being investigated by Antioch police

ANTIOCH — A body was found floating in an Antioch creek behind the 5700 block of Slatten Ranch Road late Sunday morning, the Antioch Police Department announced early Sunday evening.

Officers arrived on scene at about 11:15 a.m. Sunday to find a deceased 38-year-old male submerged in water. Cause of death is still unknown, pending an autopsy by the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Coroner’s Office.

The case is being investigated by the department’s Investigations Bureau, including the crime scene investigators and Violent Crimes Unit detectives.

The man’s identity is currently being withheld until family can be notified.
