The reported shooting occurred in the area of Cary-Algonquin Road and Harper Avenue, police said in a statement. Officials suspect occupants of a car shot at another car and then fled on foot, police said.

There was no indication from police whether anyone had been injured.

The suspects were described as males between the ages of 16 and 22, according to police.

Authorities deployed multiple police dogs and a drone to search for the suspects and warned residents of neighborhoods surrounding the crime scene to lock their doors and report suspicious activity.

“We believe at least one of the offenders may still be armed with a firearm,” police said in a statement.

Police could not be immediately reached for comment Sunday.
