Man found dead with gunshot wound after driving into building in L.A.’s Fashion District

A man was found dead with a gunshot wound in his vehicle after crashing into a building in the Fashion District of Los Angeles early Sunday morning.

Around 5 a.m., the L.A. Police Department responded to reports of a vehicle driving into a building near the intersection of 9th Street and Stanford Avenue.

Officers discovered that there was only minor damage to the building, but a deceased man was found inside the vehicle. He was found to have sustained a gunshot wound.

LAPD said the victim, a 40-year-old man, was likely shot around the area of Olympic Boulevard and Kohler Street and tried to escape the scene before crashing.

No additional details, including word on a potential suspect, were immediately made available. The victim has not yet been publicly identified.
