CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (KTRK) — The seventh-seeded Texas Longhorns men’s basketball team aims to upset the two-seeded Tennessee Volunteers at Spectrum Center on Saturday night.
On the other side of the hardwood, the UT Longhorns will encounter a familiar face in Tennessee’s head coach, Rick Barnes, who previously served as the Longhorns head coach from 1998-2015.
Texas is coming off a 56-44 victory over No. 10 Colorado State on Thursday in the first round of the NCAA Men’s Tournament. UT forward Dylan Disu and guard Max Abmas recorded 12 points each in the Longhorns’ win.
The Midwest Region second-round match is set for 7 p.m. on Saturday.
