A Texas law enforcement officer was arrested in a prostitution sting and was fired the next day.
Brian Davis was assistant chief deputy at the Precinct 5 Constable’s Office in Harris County, which includes Houston. He was charged Wednesday with solicitation.
“We hold our deputies to the highest standard,” his boss Ted Heap told local ABC affiliate KTRK. “His termination is effective immediately.”
Davis was busted in Montgomery County, which borders Harris County to the north. The Montgomery County sheriff’s office said it arrested 14 people in the sting operation at an unnamed hotel. All 14 were charged with solicitation, which is a felony in Texas.
“We are sending a message that we are not going to tolerate this activity in our community,” the Montgomery County sheriff’s office said in a press release. “We will arrest and charge those who engage in this illicit act.”
Davis is married and a 30-year law enforcement veteran who previously worked as a Houston police detective, local CBS affiliate KHOU reported.
