Shooting on I-88 caused crash, left one dead and three injured

Illinois State Police are investigating a shooting that killed one and caused a crash early Sunday morning on I-88 in Oak Brook.

Police said shots were fired at a vehicle going eastbound on the interstate near York Road at approximately 1:15 a.m., causing a crash.

Demarko Mason, 25, of Chicago, was a passenger in the vehicle that was shot at and he was pronounced dead after being transported to an area hospital for injuries resulting from the shooting. A man and woman who were also in the same vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries from the crash, police said.

Another man was transported to an area hospital before police arrived for non-life-threatening injuries sustained from the shooting, state police said.
