Reva and the Grand Inquisitor are portrayed on the Disney+ show by Moses Ingram and Rupert Friend, respectively.

Obi-Wan Kenobi marks the Order of Inquisitors debut in live-action but they actually aren’t new to the universe as they appeared in the animated series Star Wars Rebels, which aired from 2014 to 2018.

The Order of Inquisitors is a group of former Jedi who turned to the Dark Side and were governed by Darth Vader, and the Grand Inquisitor is their leader.

The Inquisitorius, as they are also collectively known, are tasked with hunting down all Jedi following the execution of Order 66 at the end of the Clone Wars.

Appearing in the first two seasons of Star Wars Rebels, The Grand Inquisitor was originally voiced by Jason Isaacs.

While the Grand Inquisior and the Inquisitorius have origins in the animated series and Star Wars comics, Reva —also known as the Third Sister— is a new character that has been created specifically for the Disney+ show.

At a press conference for Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ingram shared some details about her character Reva and what it was like playing her.

“She’s really smart and she plays the offense and she’s always 10 steps ahead, you know,” Ingram teased.

“She is a subordinate of Darth Vader and she’s going to do everything she can to get the job done to the best of her ability. And I think I was most intrigued by just her fervor for what she does.”

Ingram went on to share her delight at playing a villain onscreen, saying: “It’s fun to be bad. It’s fun to be bad and also, I feel like the weaponry and the stunt work, once you get to a point where your body is confident doing the moves that plays into it as well as the costumes.

“Suttirat [Anne Larlarb] did such an amazing job, our costume designer. Like, building something that when you step into it, it lends itself to a feeling, you know what I mean? And so, I was happy to be there. I was really happy to be there.”

Obi-Wan Kenobi debuts with its first two episodes on Disney+ on Friday, May 27.
