0:00 How to un-zap your outlet and install a GFCI outlet
0:39 Turn the power off at the panel and make sure it’s off using a voltage tester.​
1:04 Unscrew and remove the panel and old outlet.​
1:18 Attach wires to the new outlet, matching the black, white and ground wires to their corresponding screws.​
1:27 Screw the new outlet back into the wall. ​
Replace the cover.​
Get back to blow drying those gorgeous locks, you beautiful human.​

1:45 How to replace a light switch with a dimmer:​
1:52 Turn the power off at the panel and make sure it’s off using a voltage tester.​
1:57 Unscrew and remove the old switch.​
2:20 Attach the ground wire from the dimmer to the ground wire from the wall. ​
2:30 Attach the black wire from the dimmer to the black lead wire from the wall.​
2:36 Attach the red wire from the dimmer to the black load wire from the wall.​
Top each connection with a cap nut.​
Dim the lights, pour yourself something to drink, and turn on the smooth jazz.​
*If you’re not comfortable working with electricity, call a professional. Seriously, be safe.​

When in doubt, follow the manufacturer’s instructions that came with the new outlet or switch.​
