Tributes were paid to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as sport resumed on Saturday, following the death of the UK’s longest-serving monarch on Thursday. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen has been handed a five-place grid penalty for the Italian Grand Prix. The Dutchman was second in practice, 0.143 seconds behind Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz, who will start from the back with his own grid penalty. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc was third, quickest of those without a penalty, ahead of McLaren’s Lando Norris.

She died peacefully on Thursday afternoon at her Scottish estate, where she had spent much of the summer. The Queen came to the throne in 1952 and witnessed enormous social change.
