A DuPage County judge on Friday denied bail for a Lake Zurich man facing weapon and drug charges in a Willowbrook case.

Lamarcus Washington, 38, of the 23500 block of North Garden Lane is accused of illegally possessing a firearm and 115 grams of cannabis with the intent to deliver.

Washington was pulled over by a Willowbrook police officer for a seat-belt violation about 8 p.m. Thursday, according to a news release from the DuPage County state’s attorney’s office. The officer smelled a strong odor of marijuana and searched the vehicle, finding a loaded 9 mm handgun and roughly 115 grams of cannabis, the news release said.

After Washington was arrested, authorities learned that the handgun was reported stolen out of Chicago and that Washington had been released on bond that morning in Cook County on charges of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance, and possession of cannabis.

Washington’s next court date in DuPage County is Aug. 11.
