Cowboys vs Steelers: Start Time For SNF Announced After Weather Delay

US

The Dallas Cowboys matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers is now scheduled to kick off at 9:45 p.m. ET.

The game was pushed back due to a weather delay. Severe lightning and rain delayed the kickoff for the Sunday Night Football showdown. Fans were asked to take cover and exit the concourse, while both teams were sent to their respective locker rooms.

The 2-2 Cowboys look to rise above .500 with a win over Pittsburgh Sunday. Dallas will be short-handed against the Steelers. Earlier this week, wide receiver Brandin Cooks was placed on injured reserve.

The veteran receiver has an infection in his right knee that will prevent him from playing for the next four games. Defensive star Micah Parson will also be out for the matchup due to an injury.

There will certainly be added pressure for Prescott to perform with both sides of the ball missing key starters.

However, Prescott believes his approach to the game won’t change.

“I don’t break the huddle and say I’ve got to go be Superman here,” Prescott said earlier this week via the team transcript. “But I’ve been able to break some tackles. I’ve been able to do some things that have help us out. As I said, use my feet more, make the throws and so I don’t think it’s anything outside of my game that I’ve got to try to do.”

Prescott hopes his play will elevate and inspire his teammates to compete at the highest level.

“Just being my best,” he said. “And I think if I do that and guys are detailed and they do the exact same, take the same approach and being at their best and we’re able to put that out there. I’m not worried about the results and how we’re going to play out.”

Prescott said this matchup could very well be his breakout game of the year. The veteran quarterback has a 64.4 percent completion rate. He’s tallied 1,072 yards, six touchdowns, and two picks.

“I think if you broke down all four games, there’s a play or two, a couple of plays where I want back and I could this or that,” Prescott said. “But I can tell you … my best is damn sure … I’m on the brink of it. I feel like I’m stepping into that. So in these four games, I would say ‘solid, good ball.’ But I can play better. But I’m always going to tell you that. I can go throw 500 yards and no incompletions and I’m going to tell you I can play better.”
