No. 7 Texas volleyball overwhelms No. 18 Florida in straight sets

AUSTIN (KXAN) — No. 7 Texas dominated the net in a 3-0 sweep of No. 18 Florida on Sunday in Southeastern Conference volleyball action in Gainesville, Florida.

Set scores were 25-23, 25-18, 25-14. The victory keeps the Longhorns undefeated in SEC play at 4-0.

The Longhorns notched 13 total blocks against the Gators with 10 block assists by Marianna Singletary and six by Devin Kahahawai. Madisen Skinner had 12 kills with a .360 hitting percentage while Kahahawai notched eight kills without an error in 12 attempts.

Florida had 22 attacking errors and 11 service errors while Texas had nine attacking errors and six service errors. The Longhorns hit .333 and the Gators hit .146.

Emma Halter and Jenna Wenaas each had six digs for the Longhorns while Averi Carlson had 13 set assists.

Kennedy Martin led Florida with 12 kills.

Texas (9-3, 4-0) takes on No. 13 Kentucky on the road Oct. 13.
