Man found shot to death in Compton; suspect at large

Police are searching for a suspect after a shooting left a man dead in Compton.

On Oct. 3, Los Angeles County deputies responded to a gunshot victim near the intersection of Oleander Avenue and Compton Boulevard shortly after 5 p.m.

Arriving deputies spotted the victim, described only as a Hispanic man, suffering from gunshot wounds to his upper torso.

He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. 

No suspect was found at the scene and the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting are unclear. No additional information was released as the case remains under investigation.
