A pedestrian died Saturday after he was struck by a vehicle near the intersection of Colfax Avenue and Macon Street in Aurora, according to police.
The crash closed westbound Colfax between Macon and Lima streets shortly after noon. The roadway reopened at about 2:15 p.m., Aurora Police Department spokesman Matt Longshore said.
Aurora police said in a social media post at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday that the man struck was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, while the driver remained on-scene. Longshore said the pedestrian later died and will be identified by the Adams County Coroner’s Office.
Police said investigators are working to determine what led up to the crash.
