China’s military and the ruling Communist Party have turned to artificial intelligence to boost the impact of propaganda and influence operations through American social media platforms, according to a new study of Beijing’s covert operations. The People’s Liberation Army in particular is conducting three types of operations against the United States where AI tools have greatly increased the impact, a report by the RAND Corporation states.
