APD officer arrested in New Braunfels, statement says

AUSTIN (KXAN) — An Austin Police Department officer was arrested in New Braunfels, and the agency said it is cooperating with the New Braunfels Police Department, per a statement provided by APD.

Police said APD Officer Joshua “Josh” Lugo was involved in an “incident” in New Braunfels but did not expand on what that incident was in its statement.

“Per standard protocol, the Department has placed Officer Lugo on Restricted Duty and APD has initiated an administrative investigation into this incident,” the statement from APD said.

No other information was released Tuesday “to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation,” the statement said.
