A pair of fluffy cats have left internet viewers in stitches after a clip of them queuing on the couch to get on their owner’s lap went viral on social media.
In the viral video, shared on TikTok on Saturday, under the username @colleenmpearce, the two fluffy cats, a calico and a tuxedo, can be seen on the couch waiting for their turn to sit on their mom’s lap.
The calico cat is the one who managed to get on top of his owner first at the time of the video, with his tuxedo brother patiently waiting behind for his turn to come, as hold music plays in the background.
“There is currently (1) cat in line for mom’s lap. Estimated wait time: 30-60 minutes,” reads layover text in the clip. A caption shared along with the post adds: “Or until I cough and they both leave.”
Although they may have funny ways of showing it, cats love their owners just as much as dogs. Domesticated felines can form strong attachments to their owners and display their emotions in ways similar to humans, says the AZPetVet website.
Cats are able to detect their owner’s sadness and console them, even licking their tears away, and, when they really love their owners, they will also try to protect them from hazards.
Examples of affectionate feline behavior are headbutting and rubbing the sides of their face against you; rubbing up against your ankles; jumping up on counters or furniture to get closer to you; kneading, purring, meowing, chirping; curling up in your lap; grooming or licking you; and simply acting excited to see you.

The video quickly went viral on social media, getting viewers from across TikTok. It has so far received over 906,000 views and more than 204,000 likes on the platform.
One user, Haetherhawther, commented: “Your cuddle is very important to us. Please hold for the next available cuddler.”
Turtleycool528 posted: “Meanwhile I have one that won’t come near me if the other two are close, he just sulks in the corner.”
Thumbelina wrote: “The amount of time I’ve spent dissociating to this sound at work as a nurse should be studied.”
Sami added: “The cough and leave is so real. Only my girl handles coughs, my boy is out of here immediately.”
