September ended on a warm note; October begins markedly cooler

The 70.6-degree average temperature for the month makes this the warmest September in 93 years and the 2nd warmest on the books here dating back to 1871! 

September 2024 closes on a warm note with highs near or above 80 degrees in some areas

Monday’s 64% total potential sunshine ended a string of 4 straight cloudy days, the longest cloudy spell in September in 98 years according to Frank Wachowski. The record for consecutive cloudy days occurred back in 1897, a dreary 8 in a row.
