Timothée Chalamet spotted filming ‘Marty Supreme’ in NYC

Timothée Chalamet was photographed in New York City Monday in costume while filming his latest movie, “Marty Supreme.”

Chalamet plays champion ping pong player and author Marty Reisman in the new film, which is being directed by Josh Safdie. No much is known about the plot outside of its focus on Reisman’s younger days. The screenplay, written by Safdie and frequent collaborator Ronald Bronstein, is reportedly based on Reisman’s 1974 autobiography.

In the snapshots taken on set in Manhattan, Chalamet sports a 1950s haircut and wire-rim glasses while wearing brown shoes, baggy, pleated brown slacks, a beige short-sleeved button-up and a blue sweater vest — clothes reflective of the real Reisman’s style.

Chalamet, recently seen in “Wonka” and “Dune: Part Two,” stars in the film with Gwyneth Paltrow, in her first role since “Avengers: Endgame,” Odessa A’zion and rapper and fashion designer Tyler The Creator, making his film debut. Magician Penn Jillette, “Shark Tank” panelist Kevin O’Leary and director Abel Ferrara are also set to appear.

Safdie is known for films including “Uncut Gems” and “Good Time,” which he co-directed with brother Benny Safdie.

Chalamet recently wrapped production on James Mangold’s “A Complete Unknown,” in which he plays a young Bob Dylan.
