If you didn’t look at a calendar and judged only by the weather, it would be hard to tell it’s the last day of September in Chicagoland.
It’ll feel more like a summer day on Monday, with plenty of sunshine and high temperatures approaching 80 inland, though an easterly wind will keep highs in the lower 70s near the lake.
Early-morning temps were already well into the 60s for much of Chicagoland. The normal low for this time of year is about 51, so Monday is off to a well-above-normal start.
A cold front is then forecast to swoop down from Canada on Tuesday, creating breezy conditions and high temps closer to 70 inland, still above normal for this time of year.
Temps are then expected to bounce back toward 80 by Thursday, with more sunshine and temps in the 70s showing in the early forecast for the first weekend of October.
