NYPD releases pix of couple who punch

Police released surveillance images Saturday of a man and woman who punched a firefighter while he was on duty in Little Italy earlier this month.

Cops said that the couple approached the firefighter outside 197 Hester St., near Mulberry St., and began arguing with him around 11:30 p.m. Friday, September 20th. Tensions escalated and the couple punched the firefighter, according to police. His injuries were minor but the couple fled the scene. It is unclear what direction they went in.

Surveillance footage of the attackers show a woman dressed in gray and with a blue denim jacket. The man in the photos is wearing a dark hoodie patterned with brightly colored flowers, and denim shorts.
