CTA bus hit by gunfire while carrying passengers on Far South Side

CHICAGO — A CTA bus was struck by gunfire while carrying passengers on the city’s Far South Side.

The shooting happened around 9:43 p.m. Thursday on the 1100 block of West 95th Street in the Washington Heights neighborhood.

Police said a CTA employee was driving a bus when someone fired shots in the area causing the back window to shatter.

There were six passengers on the bus at the time, who then exited after the shooting.

No one was injured and the CTA employee was transported to an area hospital for observation.

No one is in custody. Area Two Detectives are investigating.
