An SUV veers into a building overnight after an accident on South Side, cops say – Chicago Tribune

A sedan struck a SUV causing it to lose control strike a building overnight on the South Side, Chicago police said.

About 1 a.m. Friday, a 32-year-old man was headed west in the 1200 block of West 81st Street when he disregarded a traffic control device and collided with an SUV that lost control and struck a building, police said.

The man and a woman passenger suffered minor injuries and were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where both were listed in fair condition. The driver of the sedan was not injured, police said.

A building inspector was called to thre scene to make sure the building was structurally safe. Citations were pending against the driver of the sedan.
