Police search for suspect in deadly Orange County shooting

Police are searching for a suspect after a shooting left two people hospitalized in Santa Ana. 

On Sept. 23, Santa Ana police received reports of a shooting in the 400 block of West Camile Street at around 3:31 p.m.

While responding to the scene, officers were told the victims had been transported to the hospital for treatment.

Police arrived at the hospital where both victims were found with gunshot wounds. They were identified as Steven Garcia, 20, and a 15-year-old juvenile.

Despite life-saving measures, Garcia died from his injuries. The juvenile remained in stable condition and is expected to survive.

The circumstances leading up to the deadly shooting remain unclear.

“Detectives are attempting to identify and locate additional witnesses who can provide information about the homicide,” authorities said.
