63-year-old woman killed in apartment fire on Chicago's West Side

CHICAGO — A 63-year-old woman was killed in an apartment fire on the city’s West Side.

The fire started just after 10 p.m. Wednesday at an apartment complex on the 4900 block of West Quincy in the Austin neighborhood.

Chicago police and fire departments arrived to the scene and located the woman inside the building.

She was transported to Stroger Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
