Shoppers are lining up outside Trader Joe's to snag this viral item

Shoppers are lining up outside Trader Joe’s stores in Southern California to grab an inexpensive but highly sought-after item that sold out when it was introduced earlier this year.

The store-branded mini tote bags, which cost around $3, have returned to long lines outside several locations.

Video taken in the Santa Clarita Valley and posted to Instagram by @whatsupscv showed customers lined up for blocks in hopes of snagging one of the elusive bags.

Some shoppers were reportedly standing in line before the store even opened.

The bags are basically smaller versions of the classic Trader Joe’s shopping bag and come in blue, yellow, red or green.

It’s unclear why the bags are so popular but some were listed for hundreds of dollars on resale sites when they were first introduced.

It was unclear how many bags would be made available this time around, or if they’ve already sold out.
