Justin Timberlake Dragged For Not Addressing His DWI Plea Deal On ‘The Tonight Show’: “So You’re Saying It Didn’t Ruin The Tour?”

US

The tour lives on. Justin Timberlake was a guest on Monday night’s (Sept. 16) episode of The Tonight Show, where he talked his new tour and a Christmas collab with Jimmy Fallon — but made no mention of his recent court visit.

The “SexyBack” singer pleaded guilty to a non-criminal traffic violation on Friday (Sept. 13), which had originally been a misdemeanor charge, per the Associated Press. The offense had taken place in Sag Harbor, where he was pulled over and arrested on June 18 for running a stop sign and being unable to stay in his lane. According to the outlet, Timberlake smelled of alcohol at the time of his arrest.

The AP reports that the plea deal also includes a $500 fine with a $260 surcharge, 25 hours of community service at a nonprofit that he may choose, and a 90-day license suspension.

The second North American leg of Timberlake’s Forget Tomorrow World Tour begins in Montreal on Oct. 4, though Fallon will be attending Timberlake’s Brooklyn show.

“I can’t wait for you to come to the show because it will complete the tour,” Timberlake teased on last night’s Tonight Show episode.

Timberlake was chided online for the offense, per The Daily Mail, as one X user commented on a post of his The Tonight Show appearance, “So you’re saying it didn’t ruin the tour?”

Another asked, “did we talk about court?”

Meanwhile, on the late night show’s Instagram page, more critics made pointed comments, including one who wrote, “Ask him how’s the driving is going…”

Someone else chimed in, “Make sure he doesn’t drive himself.”

“Make sure he doesn’t have too much to drink !” one critic added.

Timberlake and Fallon may not have uttered a single word about his arrest, but they did discuss recording their new holiday song “You’ll Be There” at the famous Electric Lady Studios. Timberlake teased that their session “probably only should have taken two to three hours,” but ended up taking about eight or nine hours.

Fallon clarified, “Because we were laughing. We were crying laughing.”

This is certainly not Fallon’s first star-studded holiday song collab. Last December, Fallon joined forces with Meghan Trainor on another holiday song titled “Wrap Me Up,” which they promoted on The Today Show and Live with Kelly and Mark last December.

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon airs weeknights at  11:35/10:35c on NBC.
