Unseasonable warmth flirts with a long-standing nearly seven-decade record

Monday’s warmth marked the 21st and 22nd day of 90 degrees or warmer for O’Hare and Midway.  

Monday’s warmth was accompanied by plentiful sunshine, adding to the abnormally sunny September so far. 

Only two other September 16 have produced 90-degree or warmer temperatures.
