Man shot to death in Englewood

A man was shot to death early Monday in the Englewood on the South Side.

Around 2:05 a.m., officers responded to the 5600 block of South Throop Street for calls of a person shot and found a man believed to be between 18 to 22 years old with a gunshot wound to the eye, Chicago police said.

Paramedics on scene gave aid to the man but he was pronounced dead a short time later, police said.

No one was in custody and Area One detectives are investigating.
