Deputies, family seek help looking for 14-year-old daughter in Los Angeles

Deputies and family members are asking for the community’s help in searching for 14-year-old Makiyah Shirley, also known as “Kiyah,” in the city of Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said Shirley was last seen on Saturday, Sept. 14, at 7:10 p.m. on the 9300 block of Firth Boulevard.

Shirley is described as a Black girl, 5 feet 2 inches tall, about 116 pounds, with short red and black hair in a bun, brown eyes and a scab on her left knee.

The department said she was last seen wearing gray shorts with a flower design, a black hoodie, gray shoes, gold heart earrings and a gold heart necklace. 

Her family is concerned for her well-being and asking for the public’s help in bringing her home.

Officers encourage anyone with information about Shirley’s whereabouts to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department at 323-568-4913.
