Two shot during street celebration in Edgewater – Chicago Tribune

A man and a woman were shot early Saturday morning while participating in a street celebration in Edgewater, Chicago police said.

At approximately 12:30 a.m. Saturday, shots were fired by unknown offenders in the 5200 block of N Winthrop Avenue. A 44-year-old man was shot three times to his left leg, while a 38-year-old woman was shot in her lower back, according to police.

Both victims were treated at Swedish Hospital, arriving in good condition, police said.

No offenders have been taken into custody. Detectives are investigating the incident.
