ROUND ROCK, Texas (KXAN) — The CHASCO Family YMCA in Round Rock is unveiling its brand new 21,000-square-foot outdoor aquatic complex and expanded preschool to the public.

The new complex features a water slide, splash pad, and cabanas for families. This adds to the indoor lap pool the YMCA already had. The new pool is opening to the public on Saturday and Sunday, and may also be open the following weekend, depending on weather.

The pool will regularly be closed between Labor Day and March, but open during the hot summer months.

Part of the construction also doubled the classroom size of the preschool at the YMCA campus. Along with more classrooms, the preschool also added indoor playgrounds and dance classes. The expansion comes as the YMCA sees growth in its membership.

Another new addition to the campus is the Program Center. It offers classes to youth and adults ranging from woodshop to 3D printing classes. Kids will be able to go after school and during the summer months to take advantage of the new enrichment classes.

This weekend, the pool will be open Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday from 1-5:30 p.m.
