Dolphins’ Tua Tagovailoa exits game vs. Bills after concussion

US

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa left Thursday night’s Week 2 matchup against the Buffalo Bills after taking a hard hit to the head on a fourth-down play in the third quarter.

Minutes after the hard hit, Tagovailoa was ruled out of the game with a concussion.

Tagovailoa’s head collided with Bills defensive back Damar Hamlin after the quarterback put his head down as he tried to gain a first down at the 4:24 mark of the third quarter. Right after the hit, the 26-year-old quarterback’s right hand balled into a fist while the right arm went straight into the air.

Tagovailoa stayed on the ground while concerned players took a knee and trainers quickly attended to him.

Tagovailoa, who is in his fifth NFL season, has a history of concussions, including one in 2022 that landed him on injured reserve for the rest of the season.
