Schaumburg plane crash closes roads near regional airport – NBC Chicago

Streets in suburban Schaumburg were closed as emergency responders responded to the scene of a plane crash, the village said in a post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

According to the village, just after 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Irving Park Rd. at Mitchell Blvd. was current is currently shut down to the crash.

“Emergency personnel are on scene,” the post said. “Please take an alternative route to avoid heavy traffic.”

The intersection is not far from Schaumburg Regional Airport, a public use general aviation airport at 905 W. Irving Park Road, according to the village.
