‘Wordle’ #1,180 Answer, Clues and Hints for Wednesday, September 11 Game

US

Wordle is the most popular game on the New York Times‘ website, and it’s easy to understand why.

The puzzle has a simple premise that is accessible to many, and players are encouraged to share their results with others—as millions do, even celebrities such as Carol Burnett, Allison Janney and Ben Affleck.

Comedy legend Burnett and Oscar winner Janney share their results every day.

“Allison and I, we Wordle,” Burnett told Entertainment Tonight in April 2023. “We just Wordle back and forth. She’s the first one every morning at my coffee.”

The Palm Royale actor also described the game as fun.

Keegan-Michael Key, the Emmy-winning star of Key & Peele and Wonka, teamed up with the NYT in 2023 to invite players to compete against him in their game group chats.

“There’s a fun sense of accomplishment that comes with starting the day solving a New York Times game,” Key said in 2023.

“It’s also a great reason to have a quick check-in with a few of my friends (and get in a little friendly competition). I’ve always been a fan of words and language and any game that can test my acumen,” he continued.

Wordle involves guessing a five-letter word in six attempts or fewer. Players start by typing in a word. They then use the process of elimination to solve the puzzle.

A colored tile system helps along the way, letting you know if you’re on the right track. A green tile means the letter is in the word and in the correct spot. A yellow tile means the letter is in the word but in the wrong location. And a gray tile means the letter is not in the word at all.
