Jeopardy! fans will take “Classic Game Show Formats,” for $800.

Jeopardy! has gone through a lot of changes since the death of its beloved long-time host, Alex Trebek, in 2020.

The quiz show has cycled through it’s fair share of guest hosts and spent a few seasons with actress Mayim Biyalik and champion player Ken Jennings co-hosting. The show also had to air a series of tournaments, repeated questions, and returning players due to the 2023 Writers’ Guild of America strike, much to the dismay of fans.

However, Jeopardy! season 41 returned to its usual model on Monday, September 9, with a few changes. Jennings, 50, was also made permanent host for the season, and fans were eager to share their thoughts on the return of the long-running series.

“Tough start to the new season. maybe the categories in double #jeopardy will suit the contestants better,” said one fan of the show. “It was also a great start to the 41st season of my beloved “Jeopardy!,” another declared.

However, the talk of the night came when contestant Amanda White incorrectly answered, “Who is Sugar Daddy?” when asked who the father was in Little Orphan Annie.

Sugar daddy in little orphan Annie? I thought of Annie to be more wholesome,” replied one fan. Another posted, “amanda hesitating to say the words “sugar daddy” on jeopardy but then just going for it even if she was wrong… i respect you so much amanda.”

What’s next for Jeopardy!? The Sony production will see a few more updates in the coming months, including new spinoff, Pop Culture Jeopardy!, hosted by Colin Jost, which began production in August. The Inside Jeopardy! podcast will gain a new host, although their identity has not yet been announced.

The premiere of Jeopardy! comes right alongside that of Wheel of Fortune on Monday, September 9, where Ryan Seacrest made his debut replacing the iconic Pat Sajak as host after 41 seasons.
