Man and woman die after collision with Amazon van in Huntington Beach

A man and a woman were killed on Sunday morning when their vehicle collided with a cargo van in Huntington Beach, authorities confirmed.

The collision took place at about 10 a.m. in the intersection of Bolsa Avenue and Graham Street. According to the Huntington Beach Police Department.

Investigations revealed that a gray Freightliner cargo van was traveling eastbound on Bolsa when it entered the intersection with Graham on a green light. At that point, it collided with a tan Toyota Sienna that was going southbound in the intersection on Graham.

Police did not reveal if the Sienna’s driver had run a red light.

According to authorities, the Sienna’s driver was identified as a 61-year-old Garden Grove man. He and his adult female passenger were both pronounced dead at the scene.

No additional identifying details were immediately made available. It’s unknown if the man was impaired, police said.

The driver of the Freightliner remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Police said the man, 39 of Fountain Valley, was treated for non-life threatening injuries at a local hospital.
