You can get a little New York breakfast flavor at a restaurant in Chicago’s Avondale neighborhood.
Eden Chicago, located at 2734 West Roscoe Street, serves a bodega breakfast sandwich. Eden Chicago Chef Devon Quinn made it for Tim Joyce on the WGN Weekend Morning News Sunday Brunch, saying the sandwich was inspired from a breakfast you might get at a corner store in New York.
“This is our version of a bodega breakfast sandwich,” Quinn explains.
Eden Chicago serves brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Quinn says Avondale is a perfect location for the restaurant.
“It was a neighborhood that was unknown to me pre-COVID,” he said. “It’s an amazing part of Chicago, a really welcoming community. The city has done a wonderful job with the walking paths and such, so we get a lot of foot traffic.
“It’s a pretty wonderful location.”
