A 66-year-old man is in critical condition after jaywalking into the path of a cyclist outside Carnegie Hall Friday night, according to witnesses and video.

Dashcam footage viewed by the Daily News shows a man and his wife crossing mid-block from between two cars stopped at a traffic light on Seventh Ave. just north of W. 56th St. in Midtown around 7:45 p.m.

The woman crosses successfully but the cyclist strikes the man just before he can reach the sidewalk on the west side of Seventh Ave., the video shows.

Dereck Sansbury, manager of the nearby Redeye Grill, witnessed the moment that the cyclist, mounted on a high-end racing bike, dodged the woman but then struck the man.

“The gentleman and his wife were cutting through the block, jaywalking,” said Sansbury. “They were trying to get around a Tesla when the light changed. The bicyclist tried to dodge the wife and BOOM!, slammed right into the husband.”

Sansbury and other good Samaritans rushed to assist the injured man as blood poured from a gash in his head. After discovering he had no pulse, a nurse teamed up with the man’s wife to perform CPR, the restaurant manager told The News.

“He went down and cracked his head open on the pavement,” said Dereck. “The gash on his head was gushing blood.”

“A nurse who was walking down the block by chance. She did CPR and his wife did the mouth-to-mouth.”

After more than three minutes the man suddenly gasped for air, Dereck said.

“They brought him back to life,” said the restaurant manager. “He was gone for about three and a half minutes.”

Medics rushed the injured man to NY Presbyterian – Weill Cornell Hospital in critical condition, cops said.

The bicyclist stayed on the scene, where he told The News he was grateful that the collision was caught on camera.

“They ran out into the street,” said the cyclist, who declined to share his name. “The woman stepped out first and then the guy. I couldn’t avoid them. It couldn’t be helped. I’m glad it was caught on video.”

No arrests have been made. The NYPD’s Highway Collision Investigation Squad is investigating the incident, police said.
