Man sentenced to 2.5 years in 2022 deadly shooting

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A 38-year-old man was sentenced to two years and six months in jail for his involvement in a deadly June 2022 shooting, according to Travis County court documents.

Osiel Nunez-Lopez was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the shooting, which left one person dead and two injured.

The shooting happened at a motel in the 7100 block of North Interstate 35 on June 18, 2022.

According to the Austin Police Department, the shooting happened after an altercation between two groups of people.

Nunez-Lopez has 51 days of jail credit to be applied to his sentence.
