BALTIMORE — The White Sox are designating right-hander Touki Toussaint for assignment and replacing him on the active roster with righty Matt Foster, the team announced Tuesday.

Foster has appeared in two games for the Sox this season, allowing no runs over three innings. He will be available when the Sox play the Orioles Tuesday night at Camden Yards.

Toussaint (7.43 ERA this season) allowed 19 earned runs on 35 hits and 18 walks over 23 innings covering 11 relief appearances in 2024. In the Sox’ 13-3 loss to the Orioles Monday, the team’s 11th defeat in a row, he gave up four runs on seven hits and two walks in 2 2/3 innings.

Toussaint took the ball when asked, throwing 35 and 46 pitches on consecutive days in relief against the Tigers on Aug. 24 and Aug. 25.

In his next relief appearance Friday, in a 5-1 loss to the Mets, Toussaint allowed one run over four innings.

Foster owns a 4.28 ERA over 110 games in his career with the Sox. His appearance on Aug. 16 against the Astros was his first since coming off Tommy John surgery. He pitched to a 2.40 ERA in 15 innings at Charlotte this season.
