Foxtrot Gold Coast location set for grand re-opening this week

Despite what the signs taped to the doors said, it wasn’t so much a “good-bye” as a “see you soon.”

Fans of Foxtrot can once again visit their favorite upscale chain starting Sept. 5 in a revamped Gold Coast location at 23 W. Maple, just five months after “closed” notices were abruptly taped to the doors of every store in the area and across the country.

According to Tuesday’s announcement, the revamped Foxtrot Café & Market comes with “an expanded coffee experience and reimagined food offering” that will carry over into several more locations slated to open later this year and throughout 2025 in both Chicago and Dallas.

The store will fall under the umbrella of parent company Outfox Hospitality, which abruptly closed all of its Foxtrot locations in April following that brand’s merger with and then closure of all Dom’s Kitchen and Market locations as well. The shutdowns left more than 350 workers in Illinois locations without jobs.

The new iteration will be led by a revamped menu featuring longtime favorites and some newcomers. Exclusive coffees blends The Milk Man Blend and Early Train Espresso will now be featured alongside returning favorites Metric and Kyoto Black. Made-fresh-daily paninis, salads and bowl will take their place on the menu board alongside signature breakfast tacos.

“Our new coffee and food menus are a true reflection of Foxtrot’s founding principle: taking the ingredients we’re passionate about, partnering with the best purveyors, and making them a special part of our day — and yours — every day,” said Foxtrot chairman Mike LaVitola.

To celebrate, customers at the new shop can receive a free cup of coffee on Sept. 5 from 6 to 10 a.m.
