Man critically injured after argument leads to stabbing on Red Line train

CHICAGO — A man is recovering in the hospital on Monday afternoon after an argument led to a stabbing on a CTA Red Line train.

Chicago police said the incident unfolded just after 1 p.m. inside a Red Line train in the 900 block of West Wilson Avenue after an argument broke out between the victim, a 37-year-old man, and an unidentified male.

According to police, the argument turned physical and the offender pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim several times.

Officers said the victim then fled from the train after it stopped at the Wilson Red Line station and continued on foot before coming to a stop in the 4700 block of North Broadway.

The victim was later taken to the hospital where he was listed in critical condition.

Authorities said no arrests have been made in connection with the stabbing and an investigation is now underway.
