A passenger on the CTA Red Line suffered multiple stab wounds on Labor Day after a verbal argument with another commuter turned violent on Chicago’s North Side.

Police said the 37-year-old victim fled the train at the Wilson Red Line station after the attack, which occurred shortly after 1 p.m., and ran a short distance to the 4700 block of North Broadway.

The victim was listed in critical condition late Monday afternoon at Illinois Masonic Hospital, while the suspect remained at large, according to authorities.

Chicago police said they continue to investigate the stabbing.
