Man fatally shot in Auburn Gresham

A man was killed in a shooting early Thursday in Auburn Gresham on the South Side.

Rodney Dixon, 35, was standing near his car in the 8600 block of South Sangamon Street when someone opened fire about 3:25 a.m., Chicago police said.

Dixon was struck in the temple and leg and was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

No arrests were made.
